Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Shasta County

CASA is a national program dedicated to providing quality court advocacy services to abused and neglected children under the jurisdiction of the Dependency Court. More than two million children have been helped by the program since its inception in 1977.

The mission of CASA is simple—"to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes."

CASA makes a difference in the life of a child. Cases involving a CASA volunteer are more likely to be permanently closed than cases where a CASA volunteer is not involved. CASA of Shasta County is a program of Northern Valley Catholic Social Service (NVCSS), a nonprofit established in 1986.
